Low hight brolly with mini sides

Hi gang, one of our members posted a wanted for a fox specialist brolly or similar, I said I'd purchased a cheap one and would modify it to suit.

The center pole stuck out a good 8 inch past the center boss after unscrewing
the pole. So I drilled through the boss to provide a temp means of holding the brolly open. Then I cut half the center boss off giving more space. The center pole had a M10 thread in it, that was cut out and hammered back into the remaining section of the central pole. A M10 bolt with a locking nut and washer provided a stopper.

It came with shock corded tent poles to support the mini sides which I replaced with storm sticks, cut about 2 inch of the sleeves and bingo bongo a light weight low day session brolly

If the dough is right who knows, by training I'm a chartered quantity surveyor, chartered manager and chartered buyer now just a teenage dirt bag baby or really a gardner. Had enough of high pressure shite

They are very low and I'm a hobbit

When I get home ill take some better pics with all 5ft 4 of me underneath it for scale, as I'm current fishin/freezing
 
Wychwood Tactical Brolly gets my vote nice rear vents too

Thanks Steve, it was me looking, and i actually ended up plumping for a Korum Pentalite, which i'm very happy with.

This looks just the job for getting battered about in some of the tighter, more remote swims i get to so may pick one up as well!

Any idea on total weight?

with two fox storm stick 6 lb 4oz and 47 inch high or about 1.20m if your modern
 
Or if you want ready made at 2" lower without the need for storm poles but quite a bit more expensive.

Brilliant for quick overnighters but possibly a bit low to sit under if you're quite tall.

The name is a true description Bill😄 but I've never used a better shelter for quick night sessions. If you're a mobile carper on a big water it would also be great for a mobile static (oxymoron intended) approach, upping sticks and moving swims for following fish.

I'm a lazy angler, once I'm pitched if the fish aren't in front of me, I don't catch:rolleyes:

Me too Bob, my wife reckons i’ve A degree in laziness 🤣 but having had a nasty night back in September when the wind swung round at 2am in the morning and being of an age when I need a bit more protection i’ve been pondering a shelter with a door, my Fox Supa Brolly Mk1 is great, loads of room but that night I got soaked. By you drawing my attention to your contortionist shelter i’ve just seen the Hideout Bivvy on the ESP website.....it could be just what i’m looking for...cheers Bob 👍
