Little Rant..

Senior Member
I normally buy my fishing licence a couple of weeks before the season starts. Its just arrived in the post and that gives me a big smile as I know i'm gonna be on the bank soon above board etc etc...

Just went to go sign my card and they spelt my name wrong.. They left out the San part, This really pi**'s me off! (my last two were correct) If it was any other letter it would be sent back with DOES NOT LIVE HERE, as its my licence its not an option!

I know it may seem a small to most but.. getting it right the first time is not so tough either!

Now do I

1) Use it as normal
2) write a normal letter explaining the problem etc
3) Send cheeky letter stating that no one is going to check it anyway:p

typing this has calmed me down anyway and I know its not a massive issue but it is very annoying!

Thanks for letting me vent of a bit of steam

Ramon

Well, I get called many things Ramon, so if something turns up on my doorstep with a few letters missing, I'm quite chuffed.

Use it as proof of payment and send letter/email them saying what it should be.

That's what you get for having an exotic name, I mean you could have been anyone with a name like that a footballer on 250k a week, or an opera singer, don't let it worry you Roman:p

Your spell checker is right Ade, it wants you to start it with a W.

I'm glad we've actually switched to this new board Tony, as every time I went to spell your name on the old board the spellchecker would suggest 'Tanya2cones' instead!
You silly tart!:)

Cheers guys..... I might just do option 2

Damian, its the principle! If a company is sending you a letter, why would they spell your name wrong! Gives a terrible first impression esp when they have to copy your name from somewhere.
If your dealing with a new company and they send a letter with missing letters in your name do you still deal with that company?

I think they miss the 'San' part of my name because some filter systems cannot recognise double barrel names (silly really plenty about) or thinks its a middle name and filters it somewhere else I suppose, But still should be checked as its the most important part of a letter

I think its just computers taking over everything and its just become acceptable for mistakes...

The Chairman on Thursday

Just an insouciant aside, nothing serious and life- or sport-threatening...

Young Paul assured me earlier that, had he survived some 1970 silliness and had been alive today, Jimi Hendrix's hommage to the Internet Age would very likely have been a sure to be an "Instant Classic" track titled Little Rant.

As ever,

Insouciant.. Maybe this time! Cant help but feel that "if the basics cannot delt with" where else could they make a casual mistake that leads to bigger problems in future (its not just the EA).. A mis-spelt word in a letter or typo is one thing, That to me is Insouciant.. but screwing up the name its intended for is just slap dash in my eyes:(

Not hitting on you, Ramon (people do tend to know it if I do, and it's not done lightly or for effect), just a bit of fun.

I know mate.. I've read enough of your posts:p

You did make a valid point in the start of your post, but how many times can you pass it off as that?;)

Ramon

Yes, you might have read enough of my posts (so have I), but what a miserable, tiny-minded place this site and many others would be without my highly variable and sometimes entertaining presence...

I would not go that far.... But you have made me chuckle a few times:D

Ramon, i know how you feel. Sometimes they miss the " n " out of my surname, probably on purpose to give someone a chuckle. :)

Try anglicising it.........Raymond St John........Very distinguished. Sounds like an author of the sort of books you buy in airports with blood stained, grim faced mercenaries on the cover.
