Lightweight quiver and backpack.

I found the TA quiver a bit to slim . I have a fox specialist brolly and i wouldn't say it's bulky when packed away but it doesn't fit in the main compartment of the ta quiver. Found this a bit disappointing. I use an esp camo quiver now and I'd say its ideal and does the job perfect

I am not sure which is the main compartment , but unlike many quivers, the centre compartment on TA quiver is for landing net and pole. The outside pocket is for brolly.

I have a fox specialist brolly bloody thing wouldn’t fit in the Grand Canyon let alone any quiver

It fits in the esp quiver fine, I haven't owned many brollys I've had the fox 1 for years now and it's done the job up to now so haven't felt the need to change. Would you say it's bigger than most brollys then?

I got a TA quiver after reading this, seems great so far so thanks for the recommendations

I’ve quickly realized how important tip protectors are, any recommendations gratefully received
I use to use Freespirit carpy tip & butt protectors when they were available, but can't find them anywhere now & no one seems to sell them on as second hand...

Korum folding quivers are excellent
I have one for barbel, one for pike

Has anyone tried the 2 Rod version of the Korum Progress Folding Quiver?

link
I’ve got one. It’s brilliant for my intended purposes taking a float outfit. It’s very slim and could be quite snug for specialist rods especially with decent size rings.
Pouch is just big enough for a small brolly. The whole thing is a lot smaller than the spacious 3 rod version

3 Rod Drennan Specialist Quiver . . .v light weight with decent carry strap and can take rod(s) / net / net pole / banks sticks in side pockets etc with ease. Central section can take Fox Specialist Brolly in its stuff sack no probs . . . Korum Supa Lite brolly fits with space to spare. Yes you do need tip-tops (I prefer the large NGT ones) and I also use the Drennan Reel pouches. Main benefit is the quiver can be stashed away easily (in a rucksack etc) when not in use unlike the padded full protection jobbies . . .

As others have said, the Drennan quivers are fine. But their rod sleeves are not what I’m looking for. I don’t need padding (butt and tip protectors do what’s needed) nor a full length zip. I just want something really light that will stop the line on made up rods from snagging on vegetation, other tackle etc. I’m looking for something made from a heavyish nylon, with a short zip from butt to the top of the reel and basically just a nylon tube above that. No need to take reels above 4000 size or butt rings above 30mm. The Thinking Anglers sleeves seem to come closest, but maybe I will get something made up.

I got it after peoples recommendations on here. Personally I find it fine with a pair of ss2600s and specialist rods. Great bit of kit and good value to go with it. If I was a bit more flush at the moment I would probably also have 3 and just be using them for everything.

I have one, like other reviewers I can confirm it seems quite small, or rather perfectly sized. It is light,
I don’t carry a brolly I use the large pocket for the second tip of a twin tip, net handle and a spare rod, this pocket is zipped.
The reel pockets are quite spacious and I pack other soft tackle in with the reels. With tip protectors on the butt sections of the rods they are a little tight in the rod pockets at the base of the section. But having said that they do go in. If you have a large ring right at the base of the top section particular care may be needed.
I like mine but I have never had this type of quiver before so nothing to compare with.

Cotswold Aq used to do nylon 3/4 sleeves with a toggle end for quiver users looking for a lightweight solution to protect against line snagging etc - I've def got a redundant set somewhere in the garage . . .will try and dig them out if your interested . . .

TA do a similar 3/4 sleeve.

I got some with my TA quiver (used). They worked fine but I dont use sleeves - so I flogged them.

Interesting thread about an essential piece of gear for river anglers but I’m surprised that I’ve not seen much about how quivers balance when loaded. Maybe I missed it as I do need some new specs.😁
To answer the o/p I’d suggest the Korum 2 rod quiver which will take the Korum River brolly in the main pocket ( I’ve got both),… unfortunately I can’t find that quiver online so I guess it’s defunct and replaced by something not quite as good.
The reason I mentioned balance was because some years ago I bought both Korum 2 and 5 rod quivers,… the 2 rod was/is brilliant when loaded,.. the 5 rod version was awful and just wanted to hang horizontal to the ground when loaded.
No matter how many little adjustments tackle manufacturers like to make to freshen up a product a quiver has got to be comfortable when on your shoulders,.. that’s so important to me that I’ll want to buy from a local shop and ask the proprietor to stick a heavy brolly in it to try out the balance instead of risking an online purchase.
