Light chair big bloke

Fred - the chair mentioned by Mr Gaskell is a Starbaits Compact chair -just put mine on the scales and it weighs just under 3kg ( 2878g ! ). Definately worth a look! :)

Chubb Snooper for me Fred, but then i am only half you weight :D:D:D:D

I also use a Fox Stalker chair, a bit low but it is a good chair!

Pip. It's the same chair that I recommended above I think, but mines £6 cheaper. Call yourself a Yorkie?

Fred,

I originally got an adjusta chair, on the recommendation of a (smaller & lighter) friend (Mike H.)

I got a refund on it because it was frankly badly built (unnecessary rivet holes where the tubing was joined). Mike's older chair was much better built and much sturdier. Mind you, I think I may be a little heavier than was intended for that chair.

I ended up with a Chub chair and can't fault it. I got mine from York Carp Centre, I believe.

I still have a problem with the adjustable legs to overcome, but I'm being lead to the Chub!

fred i dont know the weight but the nash daddy longlegs chair will manage your weight, is so easy for guys like you and me to get up from and the adjustable legs aint no problem....j.w

I use the Fox Stalker seat, I'm 6' 2" and until recently was over 19 stone. Bought the seat off flea bay and been using the past two seasons with no ill effects to the chair. The chair weighs about 6-8lb and feels fairly light to carry, even lighter now I've dropped a couple of stone myself.

The Nash Daddy Long Legs is indeed a very comfortable chair,my missus uses one for carping, but you'd need a pickup truck to deliver it to the bankside as a lightweight it certainly isn't.

Fred, as you know I have the same problem!
Most manufacturers don't give a weight rating for their chairs, they used to upto 16/18/20/22 ST.

Of the chairs recommended a couple have weight ratings upto 114KG (17.5 ST) nowhere near strong enough for me or you.

I have a few chairs,
A fox roamer (18)
A chub (22) and another one all have done really well over the years but now well past their sell by date and well battered and very heavy.
I also acquired a Fox adjusta level a couple of years ago, (johno has done a bit off work on it strengthened the sides as I was bending them all the time) and it seems ok now, not the comfiest in the world but very very light.

Lets see how we get on, had a look in Chapmans the other week but as I said none of the major manufacturers give ratings now.So Chapmans wont cover our weight range.
