Letton Court - Wye Valley Waste of time.

Hi all
I have just returned from a trip to the Wye, Fly Fishing, and as prep for later in the year when the Glorious 16th arrives and hoped to Barbel Fish at Letton Court later in the year.

LETTON COURT is a nightmare to find River Wye access ...No-One was there apart from a Farm Chap who was unfortunately not much help, no signs to the river access just nothing.

Wye access is behind a private syndicate lake...allegedly, and through a locked estate gate which has a code they sent to me....( This gate & code apparently doesn't actually exist anymore!)

Having driven round every inch of dozens of Acres of Land for an hour or opening and closing at least 5-6 standard gates, I rang a gent called Peter who's name and Tel No; is on the fishery entrance for assistance. He agreed to meet in 5 mins to assist, after 25 minutes of waiting I just left!....40 Minutes later he called and asked if I had "found the river".

What a waste of Time and rather a lot of Money!...

BTW If you don't have a 4x4 I wish your suspension good luck ...if you decide to visit.

I contacted them twice for details of the Syndicate. No replies.

You would do just as well to fish the opposite bank at Bredwardine, staying at the Red Lion

I’ve not fished Letton Court, but have stayed at the Red Lion and fished there beats. Mike at the Red Lion is very accommodating and will give you a detailed instructions on how to get to the chosen beat and a map of the beat showing parking areas and the hot spots, it’s also not too far from Hereford where you can get Hdaa day tickets from Woody At Woody’s tackle shop. Also you wouldn’t go far wrong by asking Graham for a bit of advice? The Wye is his local river, I’m sure he’ll help you out.

Hi Jim... Many Thanks in July I'll pop into the Red Lion!.

I attach a copy email regarding the lake....and although apparently "Extremely Popular" Not a sole to be seen.

Hi Tim,

Thank you for your enquiry!

"Our Lake is for members only and the annual membership cost is £550, as this is extremely popular we are current not offering day tickets on the lake."

You can book river tickets via our website and the link is included below for you.

I'm always happy to help but Paul Ashton ( see Wye river reports) is the local man
