Just curious as to what size net people are using for barbel?

The largest Korum latex Barbel spoon works for me. the latex coated net imo is miles ahead of the standard net, fishes fins, bushes, hair rigs etc dont get caught in the mesh.

McLean's Large Catch and Release Weigh Net
Great things, designed for Salmon and Pike angling so have a nice sling to put on your back when roaming and wading. A fair size, a handle long enough for most time and you can weigh and unhook the fish still in the net. Cost over £80 I am afraid.:( but worth it.

I still use my aged Drenon handle and one of those Korum latex Barbel spoons when not roaming around. I like the stuff these are made out of, the hooks don't seem to get caught up when they drop out and they don't smell as bad when you leave it in the car over night after a session, which saves having to buy the missus flowers to apologise after she has used the car to pick up her friends who now think the car has been used as a storage place for murdered bodies.

Is a 30 inch tri net big enough? is the middy net deep enough? I have had 2 of the cheap abu nets and the arms have split on them both:(

No i dont go on the spoons either..

:DI love spooning:D
Korum LATEX for me:D

I'll mix and match as the occasion demands. Normally, I'll be using a Gardner specialist spoon but I'll also take a 36" Greys Prodigy sometimes if the swim I'm intending to fish allows its use. Unless there's a very good chance of monster carp, I can't think of a single good reason for a net for barbel being 36" or bigger.

36" Whitlock spoon.

I can if Im barbel fishing and there is a good chance of a 13 lb plus i want as big as net i can so Dont have to play a round trying to land it. Also big net good while the barbel has a rest. Not knocking spoon nets i have one for my goldfish tank

Fair enough, I can't quite see how you'd struggle with either scenario with any thirty six inch carp net or the Gardner Spoon though.
