tackle shops...pros..good service, they want your money, you can take it back easy, you can look at what your getting up close.
cons..RRP prices most of the time, sells pressure, not always in stock.

Its "smart" remarks like this that stop people using this forum.

Just remember Julian the post count may only be 2 but this board has been in existence for many a year under the Yuku forum. It may may well be that Albert outnumbers you into the hundreds and thousands of posts!:)

I have been a member and followed this forum since it was originally set up under Yuku many years ago. I did used to post under the old set up but was put off by some of the replies, it would seem that some of these comments are creeping in again. I am all for a bit of fun but ridicule is not acceptable.
All the best

Or an opinion or a little touch of sarcasm masquerading as humour it seems.:) Lighten up Uncle!:)

I have one of these , the main problem is the net has very little depth which makes fishing steeper banks very difficult and resting fish is also a problem !!
They are a nice light net but in my view not really suited for netting [ and resting] big fish like barbel . I have one which I use for chub fishing in the winter and stillwater use . The only issue I have with them is that they have a nasty habit of folding themselves up if the lugs on the arms arent located properly in the block .

Hi Chris, I use a diawa specalist 30" fold away net, on first flood at the point on landing a barb the spreader block opened and the net was lost in the flow.
(Barb landed with spare net) Subsequently bought a cheap replacemet, block, arms and net with no bother since.
I would suggest finding a fine mesh net to provent your hook bait constantly falling through the net forming tangles in the dark etc.

I bought a fastnet from Davis tackle in christchurch in 2003 which is great apart from the spreader catch thats just a piece of metal that assembels the net its very sharp too as l found out the hard way, now with use lve had to bend the metal catch up to stop it collasping while landing a fish..
Good thing is its very light and quite short but of course its not much use on swims thats high on the bank..
Think it was £50 when l bought it so not cheap ..

This is the newer updated version £80 which is a bit much to be honest for the faff about with the locking device on it..but it might be different now...excellent net though ...

The ABU Garcia Head (http://www.premierangling.com/acatalog/Nets_&_Handles_.html) works fine; the spreader block is cast metal and never failed in 4 seasons. £25. The Arms detach in 5 seconds so no need to fold! I replaced the actual net with a F-S river mesh as rats had chewn their way through it. Choose your handle to match
