Landing net handle

Now I know it's the closed season! :)

Popular / preferred options:

1) Drennan twist lock - good but requires some maintenance and possible replacement parts over time to stop jamming.

3) Lone Angler Mega Landing Net Handle - similar design to the classic , long retired Powerstretch (still my favourite) with a lever lock handle.

3) Gardner Specialist Extending Landing Net Handle. Have one - it's great - but can feel a little flexible compared to more solid handles.

4) Chris Brown Products Landing Net.

All have advantages / disadvantages depending on whether you care about, weight, length, reliability, 'tartiness' more. (I'd vote Lone Angler - reduced at the LA website or Gardner (cheaper) at the moment.)

Drennan twist lock excellent, I use the shorter version on the Kennet and have had none of the problems that the earlier versions had. The lone angler handle, in a previous life one originally built with catfish in mind I think, anyone?

I have the Lone Angler, Gardner and three Drennan Super Specialists. The ones that see real bank time are the Drennans. The LA and Gardner do have redeeming features, but both are just too fat and heavy for my liking.

Man, This guy has a real handle fetish. With three drennans notched in his headboard, i know which one i would favour:):):):):)

Drennan super specialist twist lock. Got 3, and if you're not a heavy handed gallumf then you'll love them/it.

IS the Drennan much lighter than the Gardner ??

as you have both and no axe to grind lol

Patrick, have a look the chris brown fishing tackle site, they produce really good handles and nets with screw in option of 6ft and 9ft, brilliant nets and chris is always ready to help via phone call:)
ps if you see or get one you,ll never look back:)

Been using a Shakespeare Hercules for god knows how many years. Very very light, put over joints, ( as in a roach pole ), so no twistlock problems, can be used as a 2 or 3 piece handle, approx 7 or 10 foot. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. :D Touch wood. :)

What is it about us anglers that when we find a product we like we go out and buy another even if we can't use them at the same time?

Long Arm Heavy Duty 14' or theraabouts:
