Korum waist trotting tray, Is this a good or dumb idea?

This is the kind of waist pouch that I have used for years, but my one is green, this one may be a bargain for someone....

This is the drennan specialist type which I got a few weeks back, but haven't used yet.....

I’ve been thinking for a while now and after watching several Korum product release bundles that they are designing stuff, which just has no real and logical application purpose.

The folding bait waiter is a classic example. Instead I just place my bomb proof Drennan bait waiter through the strap on my Korum Bait and Bits bag.

Also the original Large Korum Bait and Bits Bag is one of my all time favourite luggage items. Simple but very effective with 2 outer pockets front and back. The latest version only contains one outer pocket and to which you can attach back sticks. Why 🤷🏻‍♂️ and losing the large outer pocket is a backwards step!

On the subject of Korum, I note that Korum Snapper is no more, so they are no longer in the predator market?

I use an ESP bait pouch and a small bucket for the bait, just thread the bait pouch strap through the bucket handle before fastening and tightening. the bucket of course is also waterproof is if you wade a bit further the bait stays dry too.

I used to have an old Shakespeare bait apron with two pouches and a small pocket for a disgorger a box of shot, hooks and line. I think it was a tenner. Best thing for standing in the river trotting, this idea from Korum looks like it won’t work well. I fly fish now and have a lanyard that goes around my neck with forceps, spools of line, a fly box, dry fly floating and a few other gadgets on clips. Very light and easy to use and better than a waistcoat or backpack on a warm day. Also keeps everything higher up so I can wade deep without soaking everything. No good for bait though.

IMO Korum are creating products for problems that don’t exist.

Just get a bum bag (Trakker do a good mesh boilie one) and put your bait and bits in there. I always wear a hat when fishing so anything pointy just gets tucked behind my ears.
