korum super lite river brolly

I rarely use a brolly but getting on and would like a bit more comfort now days.

Has anyone got one or used one?
Whats is the brolly like ?
Can it be used easily on a flat bank?

I have one and don't rate it, the central pole screws out and then screws in at a different location on an angle, I found this a nightmare to get in, so bad my mate made me an adapter to leave in so a storm pole could be used instead, in use its quite low with not a lot of room under it, much prefer my fox specialist, if I was after a brolly now I'd gor for the korum graphite with little storm sides

Thanks Paul kind of info I was after.

I was also consdiering the Superlite Shelter or the Pentalite

The pole put in the side hails back to the Wavelock Brollies of old and the Superlite remind me of the Hutchinson one - cannot remember the name.

Was looking for bascially an occasional shelter thats light and easy to carry for when I am having a better than normal day and the heavens open.

I have a K Superlite river and like it.

I simply use it like a normal brolly with the pole central. The ground cover suits me and my minimal gear for short sessions.

I bought the Superlight River Brolly at the beginning of this year. On getting it home and trying it out I found it was way too low for me - I am a bit of a unit!
Anyway I took it back the following day
And decided to stick with my Korum Graphite which is a good size and easily covers me and my tackle. The only thing it lacks is a couple of storm caps which I am just in the process of correcting ready for this winter!

The problem with the River Brolly is they changed the spoke arrangement.
With the graphite brolley you have a central spoke at the top which makes the front of the brolley both higher and forces rain water to run down the sides.

On the River Brolly it’s not there. You have a flat front so it sits lower and all that rain pools up on top until it runs over wetting your feet.

It also means the storm caps sit lower so your not pinning your brolly down from the top to give it really rigidity in a heavy gust.

The mk2 graphite is streets ahead in design over the River Brolly and if they were to actually offer it with the storm caps fitted it would of been near on perfect out the bag.

The pentalite is spot on pal

I did fit the Storm pole adaptors and tend to just use the storm poles and don’t bother with the central pole
Arguably it kinda defeat the object of a suplite brolly carting 2 poles about but as a comfortable shelter that I can retire under with all my gear & bait I’m happy

I use one of these and have had many other products from lots of manufacturers, this is by far the best I have had. It comes with storm caps already fitted which I moved to the next rib higher (very easy to do). Storm poles not included but any long bank sticks will do the job ;)

They are brilliant the mk2 graphite range.

I have the Korum graphite and it’s great for swims were it’s fits in without taking all the real estate up, ( I fitted storm caps with the help of the this forum )
but recently I was having trouble getting the thing erected then not being able to move around in the swim or simply fishing in waterproofs without a brolly , so,I decided to buy the Drennan 44” for smaller swims I fish a lot .
Really pleased with it and it as storm caps , find it best to fish without the centre pole and use storm poles , loads of room and I can fit all my gear under it , it’s a bit lighter but cant say I’ve noticed it carrying it in my quiver .

I got one and I like it . On steep river banks its spot on I wouldnt use it on a stillwater because of its shape

I bought one on release and also own the Fox Specialist and Drennan 44!

I rate the Korum for general days on the river and its usually my go to 'it might rain' brolly of choice. If I know its going to be cr*p guaranteed I'll take the Fox however the Korum is great in tight swims as its more compact / and with the short flat back rear spars good on steeper banks providing better protection. Its also mega light and if I'm going to lug something 'just incase' it needs to be.

Yes the vertical pole connector is rubbish (and can be easily chewed if not careful) and the non-central spar means water can pool and drip on your feet however as a quick up shelter I like it. Does work better with storm poles in adverse conditions and because its small I do use these to ensure I can remove the centre pole and gain max coverage etc

The tilt fixing sounds a 'mare, that was the worst feature of the old Wavelock tilt. The Fox Specialist works fine for me, never used it with storm poles but find it very stable in strong winds when it's properly pegged down. Loads of room and easy to set up even on sloping banks.
