Korum Ruckbag XL Problem

Final Update

Well I had better update this thread,it turned out to be a bit of a saga but no blame can be attached to Korum who have been excellent throughout.

I have been hospitalised and therefore unable to follow this matter up,they have now replaced the ruckbag and as I have recovered I am really looking forward to the new season.

Korum have a very good policy towards after sales and customer care and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

I can only echo what Steve has stated.

I had a problem with a rucksack and spoke too Stephen Lacey, within a week the matter was sorted.

I don't mind having problems with tackle and equipment, nothing is built too last forever and sometimes quality control can fall short, its what the company does when faced with a problem that matters. Korum should be commended for how they dealt with both mine and Steve's after sales service. (I nearly wrote "tackle problems' but that would have been far too easy for Mr Gauntlett LOL).

How very dare you sir....as if

I hold Korum in very high regard. After your glowing reports, and the minute my back is up to it, I shall pop along and have my tackle serviced, hoping for the same level of tender care you two obviously received.

Seriously though, I do have a fair bit of Korum gear, and It has served me very well indeed...and this is not the first time I have read good things about their customer after sales care. Good to hear of a company that cares, in this day and age. SO...another recommendation from me, well done to them.

Cheers, Dave.

I have three korum bags a table top, a roving and a daybag. Each one for different types of fishing. I would like to add. My praise to the other chaps who have posted and say that all the korum bags I own are robust and well thought out. Im sure they are designed by anglers for anglers.

Good outcome in the end Steve, and good also you are on the mend, have a good season.

As for me a rucksack is one bit of kit I haven't dealt with properly as yet.....but I have stripped off the bag from an old 'Shaky' seat I had in the garage, and it looks really retro, reminds me of my scouting days

Afraid to say I'm on my 3rd one ! First went around the zip and the 2nd around the zip and the chair hooks. I've ended up cutting the. Chair hooks off the latest one as they had started to fray ! I'm sure this one has only lasted longer due to my lack of activity over the last couple of seasons !
Great concept let down by poor construction ! Shame as I like it a lot !
Have 2 Total Protection Quivers and they've been no problem !
Hate to say that any Fox luggage I've owned has been far superior !

Funny old world.
Korum
My ruckbag was the first bit of Korum gear I bought, I now look like Chris Sponsered when I go fishing He has more hair and takes better photos than me and I am not swapping my Indulgance lightweight chair for anything. Only things I had any bother with was the strap from my 5 rod quiver. Andy Mackie, the guy who owns my local tackle shop, Surbiton Tackle. He took one off a new quiver swapped it without question saying the company will send me a new one by next post. And the brolly that tried to eat me.
Fox
The two halves of my hook cutters parted company at the clevis the first time I ever tried to use them. Andy offered me a new pair when I told him what had happened. I turned him down; something that unreliable is no use to me. I bought a pair of knipex cutters that don’t rust and as I seem to specialise in cutting other peoples trebles out of the pike I catch I can attest to their suitability for the job.
Incidentally he was not quite as cheery when he offered to replace the fox cutters I don’t think Fox are anywhere near as generous on customer service.
I don’t think there was a single zip intact after two seasons on my Fox rucksack, that went in the bin to make room for the ruckbag.

Hi men,

3 seasons for my ruckbag , love it as its perfect for our style of fishing . I personally think that something that is designed for fishing should be up to the job , so use it as such and don't Molly coddle it . I have over the years "tested" stuff that obviously are lower quality , with just enough time before they fail to stop you making a fuss , you just shrug your shoulders and bin it . I have over the years had a few problems with top tackle companies , with some of their flagship products , which taught me to check things out as best I can before I buy .
