Thanks, I bought from the local market a Wychwood boat net ,, about 26'' round, and would do the job.It has a rubberised net rim to minimise snagging ones leader Has an oversized screw shroud too, but it came with a short handle with a spike on the end as a wading aid, trouble is the handle is not suitable for conventional barbel fishing bankside and wont fit a conventional handle.

Hi David,

I assume the net you are looking at is the 'D' shaped pike net? If it is, and you do get it, (or indeed whichever net you buy) I would be interested in your experiences...it's so nice to have a field tester to suffer the pains for you
