Korum 2 rod Quiver. Rubbish Buy

Dave. Thanks for the reply. If it was designed to carry 3 piece rods then I can understand that the balance issue might not apply so much though. Does it say that?

The Quiver is certainly a pain with my 2 piece rods, constantly tipping up.

I would suggest that the reason it's carried across the chest by some is because it doesn't work on the shoulder, in fact it works pretty badly across the chest as well to be honest.....rather than other reasoning. I might be wrong though.

However, used crossways means it compromises other items being carried and the reel handles become a tangle problem. It's also pretty difficult to walk between trees, balsam etc. on some of the overgrown banks....................................

From the first few comments it seems a number of other anglers have the same experience, so my views are not isolated I'm sure you would concur.

As I mentioned earlier, my last Korum Product was the brolly. It was useless. So my experiences are pretty poor.

I don't work for them either, although if I did this would have failed the "REAL WORLD " test.

I'm with Graham on this - it does tip sideways and can be a pain to carry, although I only use it when I'm planning to fish 2 rods which usually means a stretch of river that doesn't require too much scrambling around.

However, it is able to carry a lot of gear, which was great for longer sessions when I needed extra banksticks, brolly etc. And I could clip my unhooking mat to it which again helped in carrying gear.

Each to his own... it was cheap so I think it was worth it.

Totally agree with you Graham, and when I've got the Korum Ruckbag/Chair combination on my back it won't even stay on my shoulder properly either!!
I've tried the strap at various lengths to get it to balance right, but to no avail....
A complete bloody mismatch of equipment for the roving angler!!

Had my Korum 2 rod quiver 2 years now, found it a great piece of kit, carry it like you carry a golf bag with the rods pointing foreward, the balace is great carrying it like this, Regards Ray Thorpe

Anthony. Yes I also did the strap length to it's longest to see if it would balance. No good. Maybe it's ok if you are under 5 foot tall?

Just to be clear I'm talking about the 2 Rod Quiver (not the holdall)

Recommend the Trakker NXG Quiver, best one I've ever owned and I've had a few :D The strap is excellent and very comfortable, could never get on with Korum.

A bit like Mark said, I feel like I've field tested so much of the tackle I've bought in the past as it only got used once because I was so disappointed with it, how did some of the things we buy ever get to the retail market

Cheers

So in a nutshell, the problem is that the overall quiver length is too short, causing it to be top heavy??
Have you tried putting a 4oz lead in the bottom of the quiver to alleviate this?
Just a solution...

Graham,
These low, very clear conditions can be a really hard to get a bite from Big Barbel, but the old stonze and pva bag is as good as any, plus a short braid hook link.

I am off the the Ouse tomorrow ,travelling light, using my Korum Quiver and ruck bag,and a few Sonubaits goodies .

Great company by the way,Korum, real friendly lads, all fishermen too.

Come and meet us at Fishomania next week,at Cudmore, home of all those stillwater barbel.
Lots of love,
Pons

Well depends on what length rods ye use l personally use one rod only if l can my 9ft stalker is what l use and nost of the time l use it for close in inside line fishing...
Use the tfg quiver which is good enough for me but no good for 12ft and longer rods...
Yes l have the chub quiver for my pike gear and they are good value...

But most of the time its just rod landing net bankstick chair and baittub with waistcoat for bits..

Cheers

Ive had a korum quiver for approx 2 seasons now and its okay but then Ive always carried it by the handle which has 2 adjustments so you can balance it to prevent the tips from pointing at the ground.Only problem Ive had is wear on the bottom of the quiver esp at the umbrella pocket this Ive solved by putting an empty tin down inside the sleeve.

Ive always found it difficult using the stap when ive got a rucksack already on my massive shoulders.

ive got the korum itm rucksack looked a great bit of kit
but when you put it on your back full of stuff the straps actually dig in your shoulder sockets and and splay your shoulders back and the bag slips down your back. i cant believe anyone really tested it. this is a real basic design fault i have added a chest strap which has solved the problem but at nearly £50 a go for the rucksack i shouldnt have to be buying extras to make it function as it should.
im a design engineer by trade and i was going to contact korum about it but never got round to it..seeing this thread reminded me so will send them an email and see what they say
anyone else have this problem with it
sounds like the chair/ruckbag is the same anthony you need a chest strap like this

sounds like the chair/ruckbag is the same

I'm happy to report that the chair/ruckbag is no problem whatsoever for me and I've been walking some fair old distances with it recently rather than being my usual idle self.;) Having done a fair bit of hill walking/trekking in the past I'd suspect that a non-adjustable rucksack is just not going to fit some folks. Happily, barring the kike, I'm fairly average sized so the ruckbag fits without issue. What I will say is that, surprisingly, I find the full chair/bag set up more comfortable to carry than the bag on its own..

Concur with you Chris, the Korum ruckbag and LW chair is a cracking bit of kit. I fish the Trent a lot, and even after ramming it to the rafters, i have yet to see a broken thread, and it is very comfy considering i have a chair on my back as well. Even going back to my service days and skiing with a big bergen and carrying one. The Korum chair and ruck bag is very comfy. However one minute complaint i could comprehend is, Korum should make a smaller variant for small rivers....

Good Luck on the Ouse then Pons.

I'm sure they are lovely chaps at Korum.

Perhaps they would like to spend a bit more time reading the customer comments on here and try and answer some of the genuine questions posed. Otherwise the impression may be that they, you included, DGAS.

Second thoughts, I'll ask HQ Korum to read the thread.

I must agree that the Ruckbag is a great piece of kit, being past the age of 65 I was looking for something that spread the weight on my back with a good level of comfort for long bankside walks and this does that. I have also found that it is very easy to adapt the chair clips to carry chairs other than Korum as for the Quiver I am still using a 2 rod Fishrite for short sessions with a 3 rod Chub as back up if I need to carry any extras for longer sessions

Google cotswold quivers, made and sold by the same guys, not mass produced (or so I think) I love men, spot on better than any big name suppliers....

I'll be there Chris, save me a decent goodie bag;)

Make sure you drop by Adrian,be great to see you :)

Graham,
I think most of us old hands here know your true motives.
And thanks for the thread ,it's always good to read folks genuine opinions which are always listened too,and YES there are always improvements to be made ,and acted on.

Lot of love,
Pons

hmmmmm, I was talking about the total protection 2 rod quiver and I had to fit a chest strap to my ruckbag - nicked off a fox one that had broken zips.
