June 16 dilemma

I've just realised there's a confusing new factor to take on board on June 16 as well as the usual how, when and where to fish.

Added to the mix on the day is now England v Wales in the Euros with a 2pm kick-off.

Trying to work out where the sleeping bit fits in now.

Anyone know a good barbel swim with a TV?
 
Oh what a mare.... how inconsiderate of UEFA to have a match on that day.... That's it I'm voting Out for sure now...
 
1400 Kick-off so on the bank at midnight, back home lunchtime, couple of hours kip, get up for the football, back on the bank within 15 mins of the final whistle and fish through to dawn. That's my plan anyway!
 
I don't watch England matches anymore....I'd rather be on the bank. The fact there's a game on will mean a quieter bankside for me, and hopefully more fish!
 
In our neck of the woods probably as much chance of finding a barbel swim with a TV as catching one Steve :)

Haa I like Rugger too, but I also like all / most sports, thankfully I am not a Rugby only chap who thinks football fans are Oiks:) Players 'fairies' and so on, if you have ever played the game you might have another opinion, it is physically demanding, and not without a bit of skill, beer guts are NOT the norm.

England have a talented squad, let's hope it comes all together...for once

Get behind the lads I say, be it Rugby, Football or Tidlywinks :rolleyes:

The school I went to, all the fat kids and kids that couldn't run were rounded-up and made to play rugby (League) and the rest of us played football.

'Fairies' - nobody would say that about the some of the amateur league's I've played in over years...although quite often without skill and beer guts very much the norm :D The smell of a Sunday morning dressing room - the heady combination of sweaty feet, last nights beer and curry, mildewed kit and deep heat - has to be probably the worst smells on the planet. Happy days..:p

If you could bottle that, it would probably make quite a useful bait additive...
 
Beer guts very much the norm where I play my football, happy to conform. Then again it's normally about the post match socialising at our ages.
 
Ooh dear, I used to play & watch too, but with all the diving & lack of respect for the officials (& each other) I couldn't stand it anymore...
Perhaps it would be better if soccer took a leaf from Rugby's ethics, the referee is 'Sir' and is given the respect he deserves, & a yellow card is 10 mins in the bin......any backchat penalties can be reversed and marched back 10 yards...
That should sort the players out...the fans? probably not possible to get them to the stage of respect that rugby fans (union & league) have for each other.....

So i'll still be fishing on the 16th......

I quite often have to put Deep Heat on me bad back just before I leave the house and head for the river, and trust me, if one molecule of it got onto me end tackle (and you can take that either way), I would not be catching anything all day.

My hands get the most thorough wash in recorded history as the last thing I do before setting off.

Anyway, Bale or Barbel on June 16th at 2pm? Neither, I´ll be working.

Barbel in the evening.
 
You can keep the football i will be on the Loddon.
