It's the only Wey!

Not giving too much away I hope, but my son has a Birthday party to attend at Thorpe Park tomorrow and I need to hang around for 5-6hrs to then pick him up. Just realised there are options for a quick dabble on the Wey without the need for membership. Not many spots - and not many barbel either I understand - but seems it would be rude not to have a crack at it.

Have dates booked on the Wye for a two-dayer on July 6th/7th. Hadn't planned to get the rods out prior to that but now the heart is pumping! 1hr 50mins to the 16th!!

Tight lines! (I hope) :)

Tight Lines indeed Tim, I hope you managed to sneak something.

No joy sadly, but a pleasant day. River not especially high despite all the rain of last week or so which was a surprise. Chatted with some local boys who'd fished it for years and were grumbling that certain mainland europeans had emptied the river of barbel, trout and chub over last decade. A noticeable decline in fish stocks in that time apparently. 20 years ago they said it was full of barbel. Roll on the Wye!!
