It's now worse than ever

John that is a fairly comprehensive write up and probably explains a lot of the problem If only I could understand it!!!!!!
Slightly wrong angle on the streamer weed though there has been plenty of that to.

There was a fair bit of weed coming down the Dove last night and it rose about a foot while I was there.
It did make presentation a bit difficult but I managed to catch a couple of barbel by fishing upstream with a heavier lead than usual, allowing a large loop to form downstream and using a quiver tip which allowed the tip to bend as the weed built up on the line without dislodging the lead.
The only way to overcome any problems you encounter while fishing is to get out there and try different things until you find the thing which works.

Tonnes of weed drifting down yesterday (Middle Trent) which made keeping a bait in the water for more than 5 minutes impossible as the hook was getting fouled up.

Tried pinning the hoklength down with putty, back leading, upstream ledgering, rod tips low, paste on the hook (think that cover everything) but to no avail. After 5 hours of toil i packed up and went home.
