Nov. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Anglian Water Services Ltd. last year paid Jonson Cox, its outgoing chief executive officer, 9.5 million pounds ($15.3 million), making him the best-paid water boss in Britain, the Sunday Times reported, citing a Companies House filing.
Anglian said the payout followed a total shareholder return of 595 percent over Cox’s six years as chief executive, according to the report. The payout was engineered by owners including 3i Infrastructure Plc, the newspaper said.
Doesn't it make you feel good to read for once about a truly successful British company competing so well in such a highly competitive market - and in doing so, achieving such great shareholder value?
And only today the BBC reports that another company in this highly competive market place is still pumping hundreds of millions of gallons of untreated sewerage into the Thames on a weekly basis... I look forward to reading about their shareholder returns too...
