The EA, in conjunction with Southampton borough council and ''Everyone active '', who control the level, fishing and canoeing of the lower Itchen at Woodmill seem to be seeking to destroy millennia of history and ignore repairing the sea gates at the Woodmill pool. Planning a canoe friendly river diversion through the grounds of Woodmill center seems to be the preferred option.

I just wanted to write and thank every one of you for signing the petition and all your support so far; we are nearing 6000 signatures which has not only caused the press to sit up and take notice, but also Michael Gove (Environment minister) and Lord Vinson in the House of Lords who have both demanded a detailed account of the application from the EA. This is all down to you lot!
