Isotope size for rod top?

Fellers can you help.

I've got a Drennen isotope holder for my rod tips and wonder what size isotope should I buy. It's removable and has a sleeve that keeps the thing together and holds the isotope.

I would get the enterprise isotope holder and get a green solar isotope. Every one to there own but it works for me so defo recommend it hope this helps richard

I have found the enterprise holders better than the drennan ones as the line is less likely to get caught around the tip. Tried the ultra violet blue solar isotope but still prefer green.

Yep the enterprise holder and the solar isotope for me as well.....

Being a trent fisherman and generally sat behind 2 rods i used isotopes for years. Until i lost one and tried a starlight. After a bit of searching on ebay internationally i bought 500 for £4.50 last January. A country mile better imo for big rivers. I will stick with isotopes for smaller as its a bit more personal.

500 for £4.50  May have to have a look for some!

I bought them from china took about 3 weeks to arrive
If i find them i will post an ebay number. The funny thing with them is the ones i used a week last Thursday were still brighter than an isotope a week later

Can't beat that Jon,...did pick up 2 packs [100] of these from Lidl a couple of years ago for £2.50 per pack.
I use them on Enterprise holders for the rivers and also use them for night fishing from the beach.
Some might find them too big,..but the reds seem fine for me.

I have lost the odd isotope over the years due to the line wrapping around them, which is a bit deppressing when you watch that little £7-£8 light sail down the river in the dark! :D

Posted on another thread:
Chemical lights - these are wrapped in foil and if the foil is broken, got a small bit missing etc then the shelf life of the chemical light usually reduces. Often coming in a pack of two, then once opened use the remaining one fairly quickly. Realistically once opened aim to use the remaining one within a month. Life of the chemical light will be reduced.
If you keep them in foil for a couple of season then should be OK, but the 'glow' life will can reduce.

There are alternative designs in chemical lights, some examples - I give you clippers and knobbers:

There are also 'wrappers' or just plain cylindrical ones of various dimensions and colours.

Isotopes - go 'Isoblobs'.

Cheers

Good spot Dave ...definitely a must have.
Imagine playing a good fish with that lot on the end of the rod,..would sound like a troop of morris dancers.:D
