with the severn around ironbridge still slightly up, but with not much colour though, is worth giving the pike a go at tommorrow, im thiking deadbaits mackrel sprats etc. also would it be better during the day or late afternoon.

I'd say it's well worth a go, however heavy rain forecast for Friday so the river will start rising at some point if it comes to fruition.

Neil i have caught pike in some very high water indeed. Go for smelly baits so cut the head off or puncture them several times on their flanks.I find that a couple of hours either side of midday is best in winter so you can stay in bed or preferably have a good breakfast before you venture out.
