The headland has houses built on it now….Loved fishing Bradley's for Tench in the late 80s - the windward side of the headland always produced, yes agree swingtip was definitely the way to go but always used sweetcorn. Brilliant fishing. Also caught loads of perch on Mepps spinners retrieved as fast as possible.
Is the headland out of bounds now?
There was an inlet pipe on the way round to the headland and a schoal of big roach were always hanging around there.
The fishing is now limited to the ‘station road‘ corner (opposite Andys lake) about 6 swims, and then part of the bank behind Ham pool and Hills. The latter is probably 600 metres of bank.
It seems that the long term plan is to get planning consent to build more houses on the bank between Bradley’s and Hills……
As far as carp are concerned, there were up to 2000 put in when Watermark took over. Some of the stocked fish are now achieving big weights. There are still a few originals left. According to a few carpers I spoke to this winter (I was roach fishing) the current stock is 200-300 fish.
There are still decent tench, perch and roach to fish for. The problem is access.
