Introducing: The all new river chair!

The Korum lightweight chair works great on uneven banks ,long, strong adjustable legs makes dodgy banks a doddle, and you can stick the accessories on them.
Oh ,it's very strong and well built too !
And yes I am sponsored by them .

Pons

And therefore your post is an advert, rather than an unbiased opinion?

Here's my two pennorth, and no one in their right mind will sponsor me.;):D
I have and like the Korum Lightweight. It maybe isn't as light as the previous version but I've happily walked miles with it hooked up to the ruckbag. It addresses a few of the points made. Suitable for steep banks without having to sit on an inappropriate part of the folded frame, also comes with a carry strap. If mine gives up the ghost I'll be buying another, that goes for the ruckbag too.

ive welded a couple of small bolts at the back of an old lightweight chair on the underside which i screw on 2 solid 3 or 4" banksticks, it works a treat and doesnt move which takes pressure off the front legs, been using it about 2yrs now. paul....

Hence why I posted that I was sponsored by them.

Having used one for several years, had loads of anglers use it in all weathers and swims, and it's never let me down it's my own opinion based on facts ,not a advert by Korum.

And you had a free day with me Mike ,catching a near double from memory ,and my first words were that you could put your giant chair back in the car if you wanted to catch any fish that day,and you did,and you caught well.

You above all should know I tell it like it is .

River Chair

Hi All,

I had been using a chair with the back legs taken off for a few years now up until this season what it finally gave up the Ghost,It was a idea that was stolen from an issue of Course Fisherman many years ago in an article on travelling light by Mick Wood Ibelieve of the barbel catchers club,I find it easy to carry with a fox rover rucksack as the chair could be held in place by the full front flap and carried easily.

A cheap alternative to say Korums chair/Ruckbag although since my chair broke(a fishrite xtremelite) I have gone over to the lazy side and now fish in comfort on a sprung recliner and a ruckbag .

Pons,

Many thanks for taking Jas to Hospital with a size 8 in his digit a couple of weeks ago ,I was all for ripping it out with the forceps but he wasnt so keen:eek:

Had a great day Chris,if my memory serves me right i paid £100 for it in a charity auction, and caught a few after your expert tuition. As i remember you did a write up in the soon to be no more, coarse fisherman.

I was using a Greys xflite that day as i still do,amongst others. When i read the article i was surprised to read that i was using a korum neoteric rod. Now,either you don't know what your sponsors rods look like or that was a misleading bit of product placement?

Chub Lo Lite

Hi, interesting reading, I have a problem with my Lo Lite..........the front legs have stopped locking in extended position, so when I do extend them and sit on it they just slide back into the frame, leaving me staring at the ground..I have tried giving them a good clean, no good, I have tried roughing up the aluminium legs so that the spring plate can grab easier, no good, I did consider drilling a set of holes through the alloy tubing and using pins to stop them sliding back, but I thought it would weaken the legs.

Anybody have any ideas ?

Maybe I should just lose a bit of weight.

Dave

David, I had the same problem with my carping bedchair. but only on one foot. The assembly is retained by a small self tapping screw onto the outer leg, and with this removed I was able to slide the assembly off. It's just a plastic moulding, a spring and a rectangular piece of steel with a hole and I was able to reverse this piece of steel and re assemble and it all worked. I reckon the "edge" of the piece of steel digs onto the aluminium of the inner leg and thus locks in place, and I assumed the acting edge of mine had become blunt so turning it around to a "virgin' edge restored it. Might be completely different on your chair, may work tho". Gotta be worth a look.
I wish you the very best of luck.

Bob Roberts reports that Coarse Fisherman is to cease publication, as he is a regular contributor to said publication you'd think he'd know.

Wow, glad it worked. Problem is, what do we do now when they go again. Perhaps a little go around with a file, or a clout with a hammer?
