I just saw the release of new flavours….the Alar Salar and masala spice sounds interesting

I think what he actually said is that Brocacel doesn't help fish to digest or assimilate our baits. This is because it's made from dead yeast cells, I think what he was hinting at is there are better yeast products out there... 😉. It still has a purpose in enhancing attraction, palatability and for its vitamin profile though, otherwise he wouldn't use it at all.

I was referring to the guy at Asylum baits who said in his last video (posted on here ) that Brocacel doesn’t work with fish meals, I suspect JB was referring to that comment .
Yes JB was probably hinting at better yeast products out there . Plenty of ready made base mix’s have brocacel and fish meals , so I’m not really sure what to make of any of it .

Ahh, didn't see that video. What he was probably getting at was it's best used in carbohydrate based baits like the Cell to help the fish to assimilate more of the nutrients that otherwise would pass straight through them. Basically people using things and not understanding why, which gets back to what John Baker was saying.
 
Fish meals already contain levels of 5-IMP ribonucleotides and I was once told that if you combined yeast which also contained ribonucleotides (brocacel) that it overloaded the fishes senses. However I did a little experimenting and as a groundbait for chub I used pellets as a base which I then coated in csl liquid and dusted with brocacel. This resulted in the pellets kind of sticking together with a firm squeeze but the chub went mental for it. I don't know why I didn't pursue down this line of thought and went onto the next logical step of making a boilie. Maybe one day I'll return to it. 🤔

A bit like ASM. I think it has Essential oils added to Alar Salar but hey, he knows his stuff doubtless it will be effective but I'll stick to what I know and have confidence in. How many times do you need to change your bait I would ask? Serious question.
 
I was catching barbel on scopex squid, Ala Salar andTM1, boilies both wrapped in that same past mix to make the Ala Salar boilies 15 yrs ago, and I'm still using it today.
If it ain't broke!
