In Need Of A Chair

i am a chub user, got a low light that has served me well for 3 seasons, also got an indulgance recliner, very comfy but Very Heavy, both have been used with the backs legs folded back on steep banks

I'm a 'Proper Lump' :D 19 1/2 stone ex rugby player, with a big butt and the Nash Indulgence Recliner does it for me ! Pukka chair, mega comfy and not THAT heavy ! My mate has one too and he's a svelte 25 stoner...............

Cor blimey Paul, I should think you could pop a sofa under your arm and not worry about the weight !!!....:D

Paul's a like a pack horse when we go fishing takes everything but the kitchen sink! Like the look of his chair as well could well be a bloaters dream chair!:D

When I use a chair (as opposed to a BumBuddy) I use a JRC (Terry Hearn) Stealth Chair which is approx 3.5kgs. Mine has done well over 300 sessions, mostly with the back legs folded up, its been thrown up and dropped down banks half a dozen times a session, and still works perfectly.

Clive, i'm like a pack horse in order to make up for the kit and bait losses to your bro..........;) 'What's that ?' 'Let's try some' etc etc lol.
Bill I've slimmed down by 3 1/2 stone from this time last year, so only carry armchairs these days :D

Thanks guys for all your input on this thread.

My update is I tried the JRC and my butt was a little uncomfy - I think the chair had shrunk!

Both Chub offerings were good, but I had a play with the new Nash Nomad - OK slightly more expensive but it really did hit the spot.

?,

Starbaits,i think there brought in by Sensas, extra lite, ive had oe for two years and im not exactly slim:eek:,Bee well used climed on when getting over walls etc, they also make a little tray that holds two packets of Mr Kipling cakes well worth a tener!::rolleyes:

we've got the jrc x lite and low lite in the shop and would personally recommend as they're lightweight and well built.
i've seen the starbaits session chairs and they're a great piece of kit, must be to hold mark who's had a few pies too many:D

At 2.2kg, that would be my ideal roving chair if the front leg were longer and the back leg shorter for sloping banks. Or even better, make the back leg hinged, so you can have it up on a slope and down on the flat.
and the time you have welded, hinged and messed about,it would be more like 3.2.
what we need is a chair that does everything and weighs 1kg..:D
a gap in the market.

Starbaits Compact comes in at 2845g from the shops. Have a word with Jamie ( Goyt angler and MTB specialist ) he should be able to save you another 350g with Titanium bolts and nuts. Ditch the back legs - you don't need back legs on a river bank - that saves another 512g. Perfect - a super strong sub 2kg barbel chair! :D

I believe they are no longer made but if you can find one the Fox adjusta chairs are superb , great design, light and strong . I have had one for many years , heavily used and abused and still going strong .PS one on E bay now , fair bit of interest in it ...
