How much are you prepared to spend…

I had a a much nicer mkII model and sold it for 1600 a few years back.
I think the Bistern is the most sought after of the witcher reels and may go for near double the price of the one in Alans link.
Personally, i'm not impressed with witcher reels, hence me selling mine.....i'd much prefer a okuma aventa!

I have a nice Allcocks 1914/15 12 spoke 4 1/2inch caliper check in very good fettle that could be sprised from my hands for not too silly a price.

That says it all Ian! For a reel to fish with 100 - 200 will get you an excellent reel. I suppose it's always been the case though that some like to indulge in their hobby, particularly those with plenty of money and probably no kids!

For trotting my favourite reels are still the J W Young BJ (Bob James) reels and although I have never had a Lythe reel or even been tempted I cannot believe they can be that much better.
I have owned a lot of pins including Witcher reels and yes they are ok but still prefer the BJ reels
However last Sunday at The Redditch Tackle Fair I couldn't resist this Mill Trotter from Garry Mills.
It's a 5" drum.
Got my wife to buy it as a Xmas pressie so now going to be wrapped up
Will I ever use it? Not sure as I prefer rim lever ratchets but I just liked the look of this. Will go on the bookshelf along wirh three other Mills reels

That’s a lovely reel, I was attempted but not sure about the caged design is for me.
