How much are you prepared to spend…

No thanks, i don’t own any now. Never liked the LD’s either tbh. Get rid asap if i were you as the market for them is dying off (literally!). SX & TV’s were going for ridiculous amount's 10-15 years ago but none of the kids want them now. At some point the youngsters might pull their pants up, ditch their hoody’s & get a decent haircut but i wont hold my breath!
Oops sorry, that wasn’t meant for me! (Dont know how to delete a comment on here? Is it possible?

@Gavin Burt - Dont want to add to your collection per chance do you?

My late father was a vintage car and bike nut - I've managed to auction off the cars but still have a MINT late 50's Lambretta LD150 - its pretty much concourse condition but has been dormant and garaged for a few years now. Battleship grey / twin stitched and sprung leather seats - totally original etc . . . . . PM me lol

Sorry for boring you but just noticed i’ve used same pictures as i used last time (forgot as it was so long ago!)
It’s the only pics i’ve got on my phone 🤦🏻‍♂️
Lovely scoots they are, love seeing the old photos.

Scooter prices are balancing out now a bit and falling to where they should be. This time last year an SX200 was north of £12k, people are struggling to get £8k for them now.

The only ones that demand serious money now are the GT200 and DL Electronic.

Great photos they are.

I know what you mean, UK roads aren’t really built for rattley 2-strokes. Although saying that, I rode to the IofW from Warwickshire in August and it was a beautiful ride through the Cotswolds / Wallops.

At least you had the SX2 which was the king of scoots 🙌🙌🙌

Back on topic, the most I’ve spent on one item is my JW Young Ray Walton Rolling Pin. It’s a thing beauty even when it’s not being used.

I’ve just made an enquiry about a hand-made split cane Barbel rod so that’s definitely going to trump the cost of the pin.

There’s a lovely “Kennet Perfection” in the classifieds page a lot cheaper than a custom build 😉😊

On a single item it’s got to be my mill tackle custom specimen trotter centrepin that I built myself on Gary’s experience day.
That thing cost me over £800 I don’t believe I’ve spent more than that on a single item.

Oh wow that’s beautiful.

I’ve got a lathe at home and treating myself to a milling machine next year and have thought about making a pin out of billet.

Was it super difficult (I’m self taught) to make or not ?

I'm still dithering on whether to treat myself to a Chris Lythe centrepin, that's if I can find the right one ! Im on his cancellation list too but not holding my breath.

It’s not difficult for Gary because a chunk of his equipment is cnc controlled. There is a lot of manual machining to do as well. But doing it all on a manual machine will be much more involved.
I’m an engineer by trade and I too would love to build one on all on manual machines. It will be very involved mind. Every movement of the part will need to be re clocked up or it will be all over the place.

Hi men

I helped a mate in our toolroom to make two , I did some machining for him . The first one was a bit rudimental, but spun well , but did not have the look he wanted . The second came out much better as we used much closer tolerance and actually worked to a real drawing 😁. He had it coated , and it looked nice , but to be honest I spent more time clocking things in than machining 🤣. It was such a faff that although I was going to make one I resisted 🙂
