How long do boilies keep fresh .

Apologies if this has been asked before.

I've just been looking through my baits and have accumulated quite a few different boilies ect . Just wondering how long everyone keeps them before discarding . Most of the ones I have still look and smell ok even though some will be several years old . Do they lose their effectiveness over time . And should I just have a clear out and get rid of them .
What do you think ?

There'll be some that reckon that they'll have lost their effectiveness even if they've been vacuum packed and frozen. But I reckon if they look ok, and smell ok, then a bit of a glug will make them at least 90% as effective as they were freshly made. 'Fresh' boilies are home made ones, the rest (unless you visit the manufacturer and get some 'hot off the press') are aged.
If in serious doubt, put them in a blender and use them as feed.
