Just curious as to how far down the Severn barbel catches have been reported,
Do they get into the tidal regions?

Yes they do, it's tidal below Tewkesbury, and Barbel are at found as far down as Gloucester, and in good numbers around the Docks, not that I have ever fished there but have it on good authority.

As far as further downstream, I don't know, but the nature of the River really changes, and the lock systems of Gloucester would probably put an end to any Barbel in that area.
