How did everyone’s day one go ?

I turned up and managed to grab my favourite peg, happy days, I thought, until I saw the bloke in his garden on the opposite side of the river setting up to fish too. Thankfully he was just float fishing under his feet so didn’t really get in my way.

Also, the drink I took with me exploded in my bag and soaked everything and I forgot my lighter (I like a cigar by the river side).

One decent sized chub and that was about it, I only fished a few hours after work but it was very low and clear on the W.Avon. To be honest I’ll probably give it a miss now until some rain comes.

It was too hot by the time I got myself up, so decided to go this evening to the Warks Avon. River was low and clear but seen it worse.
I managed to winkle out a lovely conditioned towards dusk, 8 lb ish, it headed straight for the rushes and I thought that's some chub, but it morphed into Mr B.
Great to be out on the bank and did some serious putting the world to rights with some drop ins 😊

I managed a decent barbel of 7lb 10oz last knockings, had a couple of chub and lost another barbel. The river (Yorkshire derwent) was probably as low as I’ve seen it, but strangely had quite a bit of colour to it. I remember a couple of seasons ago looking off the bridge and being able to see the bottom and plenty of chub and barbel, tonight I couldn’t see the bottom or any fish under the bridge despite being a few inches lower.
