Well that was a surprise! Thanks for putting the pic on the main page, Josh is well chuffed.
Even though he really enjoyed the day, I don't think he realised how lucky he was to catch such a fish. Not only was it his first ever barbel but also his first ever fish and all within about an hour of the first cast! For the record it weighed 7lb 1oz, I think it took me about 3 seasons to get one over 6lb.
Anyway I have a few more trips planned before the end of the summer, so hopefully he'll get the chance to snaffle another. Or maybe I'll take him to a stillwater to try the float, I think it might be more suited to his regular questions of "Can I reel it in now Daddy?"
nice one josh, lets have catching a few more, remember thats a fair sized fish & it may take a while before you get one bigger but keep it up & enjoy every fish you catch aswell as enjoying every day you fish even if you go home without catching anything some days.
