Hexagraphs

Hi ,
I am lucky enough to own two matching Hexagraphs, the first one was bought for me for my 40th birthday and the second one I saved up for. I echo exactly the same comments of Jim as the experience of playing any size Barbel on one of these amazing rods with a Pin has to be experienced to be believed there is no other rod design that will give you so much fun and excitement .
I recently carelessly damaged one of them breaking off the top 6†in a bank side bush ! Just had the quote from B&W to replace the top section £310.00 OUCH !!! It’s a lot of money but I can’t bare the fact that it’s broken and unusable and with a 6-8 week repair time, Well at least that will give me a bit of time to save the money up !

That is a shame because one of the other plus points of these rods is that they take a bit of a beating compared to carbon tubes!

I'm intrigued. All i am reading so far is that you may believe you have more bankside respect (i'm assuming here that you are insecure), and that it makes some people feel grandiose? Surely, if you really want an elite or bespoke rod you go to a decent builder and state your desire??

What does this rod actually deliver that can not be achieved elsewhere?

PS. no green eyed monster involved.

More fish, women, and invites to film premiers. Apparently.

Ower, anyway, you couldn't own one tomorrow as they take about 6 weeks to build. To own a Hexagraph is an experience, it's not just a rod. To delight in holding and gazing at it's power and beauty is something to behold. Part of the experience and pleasure of fishing is the delight in owning a masterpiece of craftsmanship. Anyone can go down to their local piece of water with a twopenny halfpenny rod. Who would you respect the more, someone in a broken down Fiesta or someone with a BMW with all the optional extras? Incidentally, I forgot to mention that B&W can arrange a factory visit for you to chose your rod and discuss your requirements. Sure, this costs a little extra and is built into the price. But so what, most of my clothes come from Jermyn Street and they do cost a little extra and worth every penny. I just wouldn't be seen dead coming out of somewhere like Primark. What would my friends think, I'd never live it down and anyway who would want to rub shoulders with the people who go to such places. I have recently disussed with B&W their possibility of building me a one-off pike fly rod, the exclusivity just appeals and I'm sure that many of you will understand my position. On a number of occasions in the past I have had fellows approach me on the bank admiring my "cane" Hexagraphs. They are quite surprised to learn that they are in fact carbon fibre and cost around £1000 each. The only thing that can compete in terms of ownership are items that are no longer available - I'm thinking of the 5000XTEA. I probably would never use one, but nice to have that exclusivity of owning one.

Good grief, I really hope this is a **** take.
