Was talking about this alarm to Roger Hurst yesterday as it happens, I beleive he still uses them. Great little nostalgic investment I hear....
 
I bought one exactly like this when I fished Cut Mill pond FARNHAM
in 62 or 63 and in the morning early a big bearded guy with thick glasses that was fishing the other side of the lake rode his bicycle round chucked it to the ground
and with his veins standing out on his head red face spit flying out of his mouth as he screamed
your cheating your using an electric bite detector !!!!! thats not Angling there is no skill your just a horrible little cheat !!! luckily two members heard it all and ran to my defence

but TBH he scared the wotsit out of me so much so I can recall every detail 60 years later so when I saw this
I thought about it and decided I must have it and I hope to maybe use it to catch a carp on it I still have a Mitchel 300 and would use a freelined spud with a foil ring on a knitting needle to shame I dont have a Mk4 cane rod though these go for crazy money but I do have a Free lifetime membership in one of the Coln valleys top lake complex big smile
as Im a bit of a daft old sod 😂
