Help Needed.

That's me buggered then lol, I take absolutely loads and loads have matching rods and reels alot of expensive tarty tackle but that's simply because I get up and go to work and spend money on something I love doing and something that's going to make my life on the bank as easy as can be I know for a fact I don't need it all though all I need is a rod, reel, line, weights bait, hooks and landing net to cath fish but it's what I enjoy so that's me. Each to there own though but no fun in us all been the same and fishing the same
Cheers

Quite the opposite Wayne, normally its just a pouch a bucket and a mat apart from the obvious, hate being loaded down with gear that I would never use anyway. But then I guess it's all about the venues, can't imagine scrambling up near vertical banks would be possible with a a tonne of kit.

Lol pot smoking beer swilling pigs that's painting them all with same brush lol sorry but its an hobby we do what we want cos we enjoy it if somebody was to tell me I couldnt use xyz or do xyz when I go fishing then sorry but I'd give them a piece of my mind we all do different things in life!!!

That's correct mate one of the places I fish is impossible to take anything other than the essential items that I need when I get myself off for a couple of nights I get as comfy as possible but yeah venues are a massive part in the whole scenario lol.

Obviously if you think Carping is about sleeping and getting wrecked, then youve not been doing it properly..:D..I do find it abit funny that some anglers think carp fisherman are pot smoking , beer swilling pigs..If it wasent for Carp fisherman alot of methods and baits etc wouldent be known and used successfully in modern day Barbel fishing..;)

You are, of course, correct Craig.

Barbel are the poor angler's carp in that respect, but don't expect the wannabe Luddites to acknowledge their angling hand-me-downs.

I'd make the buggers all fish free-lined worm for a season. Then we'd see who's "got it" and who hasn't.

Wannabee Luddites? Well consider if we all stopped using Hi Tech carp baits and gear for river fish just how difficult would it be than to catch them on 'naturals'?

The transition that was from carp to barbel for many was to follow the same path, and in doing so the real delights in river fishing was lost, of course the mantra should be KISS Keep It Simple Stupid and believe me the free lined worm willl often outfish any HNV:rolleyes: bait, it's just that we have made it so difficult for ourselves.
However as some have said we are all different and are free to follow which ever path we desire, but to label those that are not Hi Tech as Luddites and jealous is elitist nonsense.

Hi men,

There are enough barbel anglers that fish with matching rods , and the must have overpriced centerpins fishing the banks, pot and kettles . It's reversed snobbery , like leaving the imperial leather soap upside down so you see the label :D.

I love carping as much , if not more than barbel fishing , but then I concider myself lucky that I can see it from both sides .

Yes, but no one has yet explained why the carp boys need three, not two, not four but three identical outifts. I mean, its not as if you can't pick up any rod and fixed spool reel in a hurry and instinctively work out how to use it.

I prefer to think of barbel as the thinking man's carp ;)

Well I'll be barbelling for carp. Maybe just to get my own back on those carping for barbel. :D:rolleyes::p

This is my last Barbarp session in Spain..Of course it would have been twice as heavy and a much bigger tummy in England.

I don't fish for carp very often, in fact, don't fish as much as i would like to at the moment, but that looks well worth the effort. I think that is a very nice fish, well done Graham:)

Darren. You missed the point with this "Bait on, cast in, barbel out."

Its

Barbel bait on. Barbel rods cast in. Carp out. ;)

Nah - he changes into the Camo gear for the Tapas bar ;)
Lovely fish Graham - seems like you're enjoying the closed season :)
