Help me upload photo's

That second one is the 'mighty tidal Trent' at Sutton if I'm not mistaken.

Far from the raging beast which everyone describes it as.

Can someone enlighten me as to why you would possibly need more than a couple of ounces of lead to hold bottom and why would you need to have the rods stuck up like that when if they were pointed straight at the water the line could follow the contours of the bottom and be out of the way of the odd barge.

Edit: Something else about that bottom picture disturbs me. A proper tackle tart would make sure that not only were the reel handles in the same position but also the bail arms are arranged so the line rollers are at the top and the line leaves the reel parallel to the rod not at an angle to it.

Note to self; Stop visiting carp forums!

Kinda got it guys (some of you that is) :)

But note that IF at the top of an image it says "This image has been resized ..... blah blah" then it was too large.

Recently I sorted an automatic resizer that Andy applied on BFW, but it would be best to learn how to resize images BEFORE you post, so it takes up less processing power somewhere along the line .......... please.

In the context of fishing, these photos are positively pornographic. And it struck me that we could consider a 2013 photo competition (and not necessarily featuring a fish but would be fishing related- and one must have a kingfisher perched on a barbel rod). If sufficient quality and interest then there may be the makings of a 2014 calendar which could be sold for charity. This would certainly be preferable to one based on arty photos involving naked anglers in waders and carefully positioned bait droppers. Just a thought.

If we are talking about female anglers, then speak for yourself, I know which I'd prefer...

Hi Adrian
The bottom picture is from Sutton your right, but it's an old one from a few years ago(would be 8' underwater same shot now) before I purchased a bright shiny new pod.

In defence the hot spot for that particular swim was right on the far bank.

I know it well, that far bank bush is the only feature for miles. It's not known as 'Sutton on sea' or 'The Northern Wasteland' for nothing.

On the bright side you will see some of the most stunning sunsets in England from that beach.

If you walk a couple of hundred yards downstream you can catch them under your feet on the outside of the bend (two rodlengths out on the edge of the rocks to be exact)
The last time I fished there was on a junior day, remember those? The lad I was tutoring learned how to build a feeder swim and had 8 on maggot feeder while the rest of the anglers (nine I think) fishing that day had three between them on the usual baits.

I'll put it another way :)

If you have a large image you wish to post, you would previously have had to resize it (make it smaller) otherwise it would have been wider than the forum page (if it was posted from Photobucket or similar) OR it may not possible to add it to your vBulletin galleries at all.

I found some tecchy code that automatically makes images smaller on BFW, and Andy installed it, and it now works.

Small images appear as they are, but large images appear with a banner saying "This image has been resized ...... blah blah"

Now although this works, there is some computer power being effectively wasted to resize these images on a forum. With modern cameras having ever-increasingly larger megapixel counts, and assuming people set their cameras on highest or best resolution, the problem will get worse.

So my advice is, for those who care, learn how to resize. For those who don't care it may work now, but in the future it may not.

For how to resize see https://barbel.co.uk/site/vbullet...es-photos.html
