Just looking for some advice on heavy/floodwater rod.
It would be handy to pick your brains on the above and save me some shoe leather, the opportunity to pick up barbel rods in a tackle shop in Oxfordshire is limited it is all carp, carp and more carp!
I need a rod than cast out up to 6oz, my heaviest Barbel rod a JW Young barbel just won't deal with that sort of weight nor will I try.
As you can tell I don't spend a fortune on rods as I spend most of my time working at the moment, so it will get very occasional use.
Otherwise I could look at some cheaper alternatives such as an older specimen/carp rod in the 2.25/2.5 ranges?
Budget max £100.00 or a good heavy twin tip that I could use over the summer/winter and flog one of my rods off say max £150.00.
I fish the Thames and Wye when I can.
Any advice would be handy, cheers in advance.
