Halkon Hunt Clothing

This past weekend, I came across this company's clothing...

In short. Has anyone brought from them, & is their gear well rated?

I know their fishing clothing is a bit expensive, from what I've seen on their website, but made with gortex, so not surprised.

My mate who is a big chap 6ft+ was measured up for a bib and brace set, but it didn’t fit they got it right on the 3rd attempt! It’s Alan Scotthorne’s wife who runs the company and does all the seamstress work other than the long wait and repeatedly having to send it back etc he’s happy with the bib and brace.

Supposed to be one of the very best.
If I had the money I would definitely have a jacket and trousers made - I am on the large side and only 5' 8" !
I've seen them in person, think there perfect but approx £600 Per set!
I personally don't like padded clothing, prefer layering up depending on how cold it is, but top layer must be water proof

Yep.

HH kitted out our match team back in the day. Made to measure as well, which was nice as it was an all female workforce back then. :p

It was before GTX and the clothing needed looking after. More of a match fishing brand though, they do supply one or two companies with their clothing, Drennan being one, Guru another.

I believe they have the GTX patent for fishing clothing. It's good stuff, there's hardly a match angler about that hasn't had a HH garment at one time or another.

Not sure it's the best bet for our type of fishing though.

There's a bit on this video about HH, you'll just have to search through it to find it.

Cheers for that...I'll take a look👍

The match boys rave about HH clothing.

I bought a used bib/brace a few years back and it does exactly what it is supposed to….

I'm on my second set as the first was stolen. Great fit for fishing as it allows flexibility and size, not just skinny walkers. Bib and brace very comfortable and jacket is 3/4 length with a decent adjustable hood. Goretex so expensive but will last years.

Many years ago when I was match fishing, it was the best available at the time but a lot of competition out there now.

HH are the best waterproofs I've ever owned, and I've had all sorts in the past. The bib n brace and jacket are excellent, had mine for 5 or 6 years now, still in perfect condition after heavy use. As others have said, they are just a waterproof shell, you need good thermal layer underneath but that allows them to be used all year round, just change the layering. I went with the HH recommended fit from my size, wish I'd gone a little larger it can be a bit tight if fully layered up in deep winter.

I believe HH make the daiwa goretex clothing, not sure how the price of the daiwa brand compares to made to measure but might be worth checking out
