I find the 11ft Harrison Avon quite soft so Ok for short range I use it for chub, bends right up very light in the hand. The tip is sensitive enough but I also have another tip with a spliced 3oz quiver should I need more sensitivity.

1lb 4oz is 1.25lb.
It's not that confusing 😚

I've learned something here! I got out my original 1lb 6oz rod which was sold as a SEER Rover. I then compared it with the SU version I built recently. It has a noticeably firmer action. I tried interchanging the tops and the SU is slightly wider so it's a loose fit. Looking at the tips closely you can notice it. I never use the two together and don't use the SEER rod much now. I'm glad really that I have one of each ( by accident!). 👍

Thanks Mike, but I have now found a barbel quiver, from someone else in this excellent group.

Now - the Harrison 4-piece Avon is one helluva rod (not that anyone's asking, specifically). 🫣
Just thought it deserved to be in the mix.

Paul Boote used to post on this forum, until around 2009. Very funny bloke with a well-developed sense of humour.
