Good hook??

Check the eye with a glass on the t-6's I lost two fish last week due to the eye cutting through the line. After the first one broke I took great care to tie the second one making sure the first turn of the knotless knot went away from the closure but it still cut through the line seconds into the fight. When I checked the rest of the pack with my glass the eye was as rough as a rough thing and even though at £3 for 10 it broke my heart to do it I binned the rest.
On reflection They would probably have been ok for use with coated braid or even with a different knot and a separate hair but I don't like leaving hooks in fish so it was not worth the risk.
 
Thats interesting adrian, i have never had any problems with the t6,but i also swear by super specialists in the smaller sizes and i once had a packet which were all duff, they straightened out under pressure, something which i had never have had happen before i binned them but have had no problems since,i am impressed with the pallatrax hooks though,tried them this year in 12s and 14s and i am impressed with the sharpness and strenghth of them.
 
A real leap of faith to buy another packet of hooks from the same manufacturer,after the previous packet had failed so badly.

I hope i'm not too late but i am looking for a good barbed hook in small sizes but it must have a straight eye.

Any ideas?

Agree long points are a great small barbel hook unfortunately my stock is running very low. I understand that they have been discontinued, then revamped and released under a new name. Do you know what they are called and are they as good?

kasman barbel max had 9 barbel on swale n trent with same hook and now onway to hospital to have it removed from finger ,hope they dont blunt it am ont tidel tomoz
