Gluing isotopes

Julian Griffiths

Afternoon guy's.

Ive got a couple of landing net spreader blocks that accept isotopes.
The items have a recess where a isotope can be fixed within.
If I use glue, I've heard isotopes can crack due to no room to expand with heat etc....

Can I use clear silicone sealant instead, or if not, how have you fixed them in place?

Cheers
Julian

I’ve always used silicon on the end of a baiting neddle or kebab stick tiny amount then wipe over with baby wipe

As per photo don’t what ever you do use glue

Hi Julian.
I have fitted isotope’s into machined resesses and I’ve found a 1 part clear rod builders epoxy varnish to be perfect for it. Just drop the isotope into the slot and coat it in the epoxy, leave to set and it’s done!

Another vote for silicone
