Getting up.

Nodded in agreement with Howard but that's all in the past, I'm chilled now ! The downside is I keep forgetting things, recently left my bait at home and then last week my chair. Seems you can't win !!

Smiled and nodded all the way through that one Howard! My plan last night was to go to bed early to get up at 0400 to hit the river. Ended up staying up till 2330 making bait and then laying awake until the early hours running through tactics, swims, presentation etc etc...... Didn't make any sammiches either as I was too preoccupied so after not arriving at the river at the crack of dawn I went hungry all day and now I'm sleepy! Managed to get a couple on the bank though so it's all worth it. Next time I will get up early, honest! Although thinking about it, it's not entirely my fault: I blame Sony for installing the snooze facility on the alarm clock....... I think someone should invent a snooze button that costs £10 every time you hit it. Yep fishing is relaxing!

90% of my fishing is done with Clive and these days we are NEVER in a rush....... It's all about just being there and enjoying the craic with a good friend !!! We both fish like idiots half the time, but that's part of what makes it so enjoyable.......
I've done my years of 'fishing hard' and having juggled a family, shifts, fishing and a social life for nigh on 15 years, I am so glad to now have a reasonably paid day job....... As a recently single dad, fishing suddenly becomes no more than a pleasant distraction from the thing which really drives me :- The happiness of my boys and the fantastic circle of friends I am so lucky to possess........ reality checks with 'medical issues' have also changed my outlook on life considerably !!!
Having the more relaxed outlook towards my fishing has made the enjoyment soar unbelievably over the last couple of seasons...... You could probably count the number of sessions in those 2 years on your fingers and toes, but I've thoroughly enjoyed every minute of every session..........

Never tried adding a picture on here, but will give it a go. If it works, you should see my new little pal...if not...blankety blank :D

Some hard work coming there David;) I remember getting my Doberman puppy 6yrs ago:eek: I thought will he ever calm down, 2 1/2yrs later he did, now he's just a lazy sod.
Excellent post there Howard:D

i,ve just got a bedlington terrier and she goes everywhere with me, she just potters about on the bank then sneeks up, gets the line snagged on her collar resulting in a very good imitation of a barbel bite and me grabbing for the rod.

My favourite dogs Bedlington, make my daughters aah so much.

Expensive taste, a cane rod already and he,s only a few months old. ;)

Ha haaa...does look a bit like it doesn't it Derek :D

You are not wrong Paul...its like having a new baby, only one that doesn't wear a nappy, and has incredibly sharp teeth :D

Cheers, Dave.
