Hi Guys,
As a rider to the garlic spam thread...has anyone done any/heard of any research into the most effective of the garlic flavours available?
There are a variety of garlic oils available, with varying strengths and potencies, from extremely subtle carrier oils with little if any garlic flavour up to the ultimate 'garlic essential oil' (which is so strong as to be almost unusable) Add to that a raft of garlic salts and other flavoured powders, liquid etc...and of course raw natural garlic...and that amounts to a lot of choices.
Oh...and for those who simply assume that natural garlic is naturally the best (excuse the pun), I would point out that such assumptions are not always correct. Carp fisherman have long been aware that sometimes the synthetic flavours are in fact preferable in bait....the prime example of this being strawberry. The synthetic variety is a superb carp catcher, whereas actual strawberries are next to useless (cue the hordes who 'Once caught a carp on a strawberry' )
So...does anyone know of any firm info on this? Or at least strongish anecdotal evidence?
I won't say a word to anyone else, honest
Cheers, Dave.
