Hi Richard,
The Basias have a cracking Blank and are a very nice quality rod , however Ime not really a fan of the Daiwa Flat cork Handle, I also think that on some occasions the rings have been fitted on the wrong side of the Spine !!!
A custom built Basia blank would be Top notch in my opinion , but alas that's not likely to happen.

Oh really. I love the Daiwa arm lock handles. Absolutely love em.
a lot of off the shelf rods ain’t built on the spine. Often it’s done on purpose to make the rod appear straighter when held out guides down.
A custom basia is possible Adam. Just strip the guides and handle and send it to someone to build on to your spec.
my only real complaint is the tip guide but to be honest I’d pick something better to replace all the guides if I was going to change it

I was also looking at the Torrix 2.25, but as I have the Big water ,I don't think there would be much difference ,apart from the £100 difference in price .

First time I've had an anti frap tip(on the infinity)was amazed that the line didn't seem to go over the tip while filling feeder and suchlike!!,happens all the time on my other rods☹

Have recently built a pair of FS Big Waters and a pair of Torrix 2.25 and IMO there is quite a difference. At the end of the day quite a bit rests on personal preference.
