Fox Stalker landing net handle help please

Tim Lennon

Senior Member
Hi All,
I've just inherited two of these landing net handles that seem fairly ideal other than the fact that they're both suffering from the usual "twistlock" failure of not locking when they're twisted!

Anyone got any experience of curing the fault?

thanks in anticipation,
Tim

Hi Tim, I've just this week repaired and cleaned mine again:eek: probably about the fourth time since I've had it, but it must be at least 6yrs old. Trouble is its getting shorter and shorter every time I do it. You need to saw the metal spike off the end about 15-20mm up on the fibreglass and the metal top off so you can get the extension out from the bottom. You then have a plastic spreader thing attached at the bottom going around a 8mm thread with a nut on, when you twist the pole the spreader thing grips the inside and the nut spreads it out, what you need to do is clean the plastic thing and I usually rough it up with emery cloth. Then you need to cut the fibreglass from around the spike and inside the net screw off, then I just araldite everything back together, good as new, just a tad shorter;) but still a brilliant pole;)

strangely, on the one I've managed to repair, the top section pulled straight out of the top of the bottom section easily enough.

when I attempted to do the same with the 2nd pole, it became hopelessly jammed in the fully extended position. I can't budge it at all now!
