Hello all,
I've just found one of the above rods for sale which has piqued my interest. Although I've been a member of King's Weir for a number of years my main discipline has been lure fishing. Since I've reached my retirement in May, my intention is to master angling for Barbel on the River Lea.
Although I have been very occasionally Carp angling as a guest of a friend at Abbey Cross about a decade ago, I'm looking at my options regarding suitable Barbel rods. I have a couple of the early 12' Nash Outlaw Carp rods with 2.5lb test curves which I bought used about a decade ago. Would these be suitable for the task in hand? Perhaps overgunned!
Hence my question about the Fox Barbel Duo which comes with glass fibre and carbon tips ranging from 4oz to 5oz. Have any of you any experience of the Fox rod? Any and all opinions are most welcome as I thought this would be potentially risk free as a starter setup with a recently purchased Okuma INC-6000 reel.
I'm not averse in future going down the custom route as I have a couple of one-piece custom lure rods, one a Dave Lumb Axiom 6824 and a WVA lure rod.
Thank you all in advance.
