Formatting of BFW Articles

Hi,

I've just been reading Keith Speer's article on float-fishing for barbel - a very well-written piece.

However, I find that BFW articles are hard to read, and I believe there are two reasons for this:
  1. white text on black background
  2. sans serif font

Is it just me? I know it isn't...

Andy - would you consider changing the formatting of the articles, eg. to a dark text on light background, and a serif font?

R.

Serif fonts are generally accepted in the web-design industry as harder on the eyes when viewed on screen. It's reasonably rare to see a website which uses serif fonts exclusively.

Contrast is a valid point though.

OK, fair comment about the font.

How about black text and 10% grey background for the colours? Maybe a slightly increased line spacing would help too?

R.

I also struggle with white on black. To overcome this I highlight the text as I read down the page. Not ideal but it works for me.

The font face utilised by BFW articles is

"Arial,Helvetica,Sans Serif"
