Float rods

A Cadence 14ft CR10 will suffice for most of the fishing you're likely to do. You won't be able to haul a big barbel out of a snag once it's in, but you should be able to stop it getting there in the first place.

You can adapt many floats into sliders by attaching micro swivels using float rubbers top and bottom. The line flows better through the eyes of the swivels than some of the tiny eyes on dedicated sliders.

Adam in my opinion there is only 1 rod worthy of consideration for the Trent Freespirit Hi S 15ft. They have ended the run on the 2 I have but should be bringing out a revised version soon. They are not cheap circa 350 but worth every penny. They handle barbel extremely well even in a strong flow.
There aren't any Hi S float available at the moment !!!😳 However there the CTX POWER FLOATS 13' and 15'
Quite abit cheaper ,but for occasional use may be ok !

I am using ctx power float 15ft. For the money, it is a great rod. Cadence is also great, but the Eva handle puts me away from it.

Did you say you have 2 x free spirit 15ft rods ?🤔

Adam, it's always recommended to have two rods set up as the inevitable tangles that happen when float fishing always come just as the fish are feeding! Not necessarily 2 x Freespirit Hi S's! But if you could, you would.😉
