Thanks Richard, it was a little difficult to glue up, I think they would easy on abbreviated handles but I like full cork on my rods.
With guides and blanks not trading, it’s now much more difficult to get the parts, I won’t be making my own rods in the near future. Even when guides and blanks were trading I could not buy everything just on line. But they were really helpful and provided exactly what I wanted when I rang them.
The only problem with the IPS/VSS style of seat is the size of the rear reel “hood”. Most of my reels fit ok but my Lewtham Leeds centrepin would not.

The only time I've had a problem with a VSS is also with a Lewtham (Quest) reel. I think the 'problem' is with Letham's very thick reel seats, but an angle grinder can soon sort that out

This is an interesting thread as I've been trying to have a reeel seat and handle altereed on a favourite feeder rod. However, it appears that Guidesn'Blanks have stopped trading which is a real shame after supplying compnenents for s many years.

I was looking for a real seat in Summer and found this site which does deliver to the UK and appears to have a very good selection of reel seats, grips etc and excellent cork lengths in AAA and above. i ordered from the components arrived in the same time as if I'd have ordered them in the UK.

I butchered a very tatty old Daiwa Matchwinner Spliced Tip about five years back. I wanted a Fuji reel seat and hard EVA handle that I couldn't get from Guides & Blanks. Tackle24 had a much wider choice at the time, and it was pre-Brexit. I bought from them for the first time (and expected it to be the last time). I was very impressed with them back then. Delivery was speedy.

I've seen them discussed on another forum. However, I don't recall anyone admitting to owning one or having fished with one.
