I took a subscription out a few months ago.....and In only my opinion, I think it's great. The films are well made cover lots of different topics....lots of angler interviews. I enjoy it ....some people are anti Martin Bowler and will say different. Was wondering what if any, most of you have watched, and is the content is worth a subscription?
Thanks for that! Seems a no brainer in fact!Link to recent thread Julian -
Fish Flix
Hi, has anyone any experience of this recently? I’m not interested in the politics surrounding anyone or the venues used during filming, just wanted to know if there is more to see once ‘signed up’? Looking at it on the website there are only about 6 or 7 short films and a monthly subscription...barbel.co.uk
The thing I’m not keen on with Bowler is his constant re inventing of the wheelI noticed Duncan Charman stuff is on the fishing TV app. But I'll take a look at Fishflix. I'm not sure why I'm not keen on Martin... I'm sure he's probably an OK bloke, I think it's his presenters voice unfortunately I find hard to keep listening too, I found that with the film he did with Terry Lampard, but there's no mistaking his angling skills to be fair to him.

Cheers HuanzhouThe quality is good. Just do it for a month, and you will finish all the videos they did.
I actually thought he comes across completely opposite to this, on the Fishflix vids at least….just basic no nonsense watercraft and bait placement with basic rigs. The video about quivertipping on rivers an example of this, favouring old tackle from the 90s to modern gear. I generally can’t stand blatant product placement and steer away from those vids but have thought much of the Fishflix stuff enjoyable and thought provoking. The thing I’m not keen on with Bowler is his constant re inventing of the wheelas I feel it’s just product placement? For his sponsors/ employers!
over complicated codswallop! Only my opinion of course?

I’ll have to check his new stuff out then, I felt when he was with drennan that he seemed to use every other new piece of tackle that they brought out as a must have piece of equipment, ie float stops for link legers instead of a time tested four turn water knot as a example etc, I’m not knocking his angling ability though as I’ve learned quite a few things from him in the past.I actually thought he comes across completely opposite to this, on the Fishflix vids at least….just basic no nonsense watercraft and bait placement with basic rigs. To be fair to him, that was his job. I never understand when people complain about stuff like that when the angler is question is doing exactly what they are employed to do. Even Carl Smith, his videos are cleverly rammed with product placement. To be fair to him, that was his job. Brand ambassador.
Fishflix is very good content, filmed superbly.
Sorry, I should have maybe put the words “RE INVENTING THE WHEEL” in capital letters would that have been better for you mark? Sorry if I offended you by having a opinion.I never understand when people complain about stuff like that when the angler is question is doing exactly what they are employed to do. Even Carl Smith, his videos are cleverly rammed with product placement.
But as someone else posted, he seems to favour the older 90's rods from various brands now he's not tied to Drennan and part of me understands it, I don't think off the shelf carbon is any better these days and probably worse.
I found fish flix videos the best out there, I just subbed for a month or 2 and binge watched everything they had.
University of chub is my favourite simply because the venue he fished is only 20mins walk for me and I know how hard that place is for chub. A worm at the end is just amazing, one of the best fishing video I think.I’ve been blowing the fishflix trumpet for a while now. The quality of filming in some of the videos is the new bench mark for me.
I’d also recommend watching the videos, which initially you may think wont be of interest to you. As an example I don't personally pike fish, but the pike video from the Scottish Highlands is just a great angling film!
Other fav’s inc The University of Chub and A Worm at One End……. Jesus felt every run of that Barbel at the end of it, even the wife was glued to it!
I really like the interview videos too
There’s a Fishflix app too, which I have on my iPad. You can Airplay it straight to your TV, if Airplay enabled.
