Also have a look at daiwa GS Br reels…not used one myself but being daiwa are bound to be decent and fairly cheap…so maybe use them for a few months until Thunnus back in stock and get yourself an early Xmas pressie😉

I think I've just bagged 2 x Cadence CS10 5500 LC for £100 and only used a handful of times and in mint condition (as these will be a stop gap until I can source the might Thunnus) but I've got a horrible feeling now that the 5500's will be too big 🙄

I really don't understand with what's going on with Fishernator but the reels are showing back in stock but I haven't had my refund yet and tbh the experience has put me off using them.... I'm really frustrated as I want the reels

They do apparently, but the only time I used it I was playing a barbel and the clutch locked up solid, having no back wind I was stuffed and subsequently lost the fish.
The problem was a nylon bush that dislodged from spool pin and wrapped around the pin rendering it stuck. I managed to get replacement bush from a Pershore based Penn service guy, now retired, in fairness he had nothing but praise for the reel, but it put me off using it again.

That would be enough to put me off them aswell.
Having to Hand line a big river cam chub was the very reason I won’t have an aero X again either.

The short spool skirt coupled with a line guard that’s fitted with enough clearance to get toe rope in there is just a train wreck of a design.

I’ve said it many times that guys casting over head and feathering down will never notice this to be a problem as your putting the bail arm over a taught line, but if like me, guys underarm casting very short distances and can’t always feather down then it’s only a matter of time before you forget to check it and end up with a problem.

Not everyone has an issue with them granted and it’s definitely resolved if you are able to use the right casting techniques or remember to check it before setting the bail over.

I have a Pursuit and a Battle that I use for sea fishing in Florida, need a good, reliable clutch for the way fish scream off, never been let down.

I have never cast overhead, for the reasons probably unfounded I consider upon entry it's a better tidier cast. But this is just down to the fact am an old bugger anyways. Mind you I do set up a rod and lead in the field behind me and just have a bit of fun occasionally, beach caster style, neighbours think I have lost the plot mind.
