Thanks for all the helpful advice. Decided to go with Maui Jims and the bronze lens( supplied by Chris Cheshire). First outing with them on the Trent last night.
Soon spotted some barbel under a tree that I couldn't see without them. Had a 9 pounder within 5 minutes. However, after scrambling down a steep bank and a struggle netting the fish, somehow had managed to lose the glasses! Wasted an hour scouring the undergrowth and nearby riverbed, to no avail. Already ordered a new pair as I was well impressed, the short time I used them. Fished into dark for 3 more fish but then managed to lose my camo petzl! To round the evening off, my mate got done on the way home for speeding!
